The journal is published in partnership between the Center of Excellence in Genomic Medicine Research and Nature Publishing Group.

The aim of the Center is to conduct basic and applied research to the highest international standards in cancer and genetic disorders that are common in the Kingdom. The CEGMR aims at addressing important health issues at genomic, proteomic and epigenetic scale. CEGMR has initiated a different major research programs and develops the genomic science research at its core and facilitates the interaction of investigators from different disciplines consisting of cooperative and productive team members in a conductive work environment.

Sep 2001 – Until Present Founder and Director of Diagnostic Genomic Medicine Unit (DGMU) King Abdulaziz University Hospital, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Genomic Medicine Unit at King Abdulaziz University Hospital & King Fahad Research Centre is a comprehensive molecular cytogenetic testing facility founded and established by me at late 2001. The laboratory perform about 7600 cases. I consult chromosomal analysis and molecular genetic results for a wide variety of specimens including amniotic fluid, bone marrow, peripheral blood, skin fibroblasts, solid tumors and lymph nodes biopsies, chronic villis and product of conception samples using advance Meta-system fully automated karyotyping system. Perform chromosome-staining technique, banding techniques, molecular genetic studies such as fluorescent in-situ hybridization (FISH) and Comparative Genomic Hybridization (CGH). Duties also include management of inventory control system, ordering of laboratory supplies and reagents. Record maintenance of patient files, quality control testing and quality assurance. I work hard to get the accreditation of the College of American Pathologist (CAP) in 2009
